S&CC Group Inc. runs Columbus Storage Containers. Container One supplies every container and arranges its delivery.
I served nearly 14 years as a United States Marine before moving into the container industry. The Corps taught me that details matter, that commitments are kept, and that you do not leave someone hanging when they are counting on you.
Ohio runs from the Lake Erie shore in the north to the Ohio River, which forms its southern border and much of its eastern one. Glaciers left the west flat to gently rolling and the northeast a hilly plateau. Northwest Ohio is a flat former lake bed, where farms depend on ditches and buried drainage tile. The glaciers never reached the southeast, a hilly plateau of ridges, hollows and winding two-lane roads. Columbus sits near the middle of the state, with suburbs and warehouse parks spreading into the farmland around it. Cleveland and the towns along Lake Erie have older lots, tight driveways and lakefront industry. East of Cleveland, the snowbelt gets heavy lake-effect snow. Interstate 70 crosses the middle of the state, I-71 and I-75 run north and south, I-77 serves the east and the Ohio Turnpike crosses the north.
In Ohio's older city neighborhoods, check the truck's route for tight driveways and low wires. On flat farm ground, check ditch crossings and lanes that soften after rain or a thaw. In the southeast hills, check the road in for steep grades, sharp turns and low bridges.
Most of Ohio sits on glacial till, a dense mix of clay, sand and stones. Much of the northwest has slow-draining clay, and the southeast hills have thin soil over bedrock on steep slopes. In every region the same spot can be firm in August and soft after a thaw, so the landing area needs drainage and firm bearing under each corner.
